The Rules of Bad Credit - It's Not as Bad as You Think

 

We’ve listed answers to the most commonly asked questions we get during the bad credit repair process.

  • Be organized. You must keep detailed records of your credit reports and correspondences with creditor and credit bureaus.

  • Be patient, this process does not happen overnight. It probably took you awhile to accumulate bad credit, its going to take a couple months to fix it.

  • You don't owe money until a judge says you do.

  • Sign nothing that is sent to you unless you're advised by YOUR attorney to do so.

  • Don't be scared, don’t let it stress you out – keep your cool.

  • Do not take any abuse from collectors.

  • Don't believe anything a Collection Agency says.

  • Making a payment - or even agreeing to a payment plan can start your statute of limitations over.

  • Correspond with creditors via regular mail only. Request they do the same.
  • Send everything certified mail, return receipt requested.

  • Collection Attorneys are no better then you. From our experience they don’t know the first thing about proper collection techniques. The title “Attorney” means absolutely nothing.

  • Do NOT Speak to anybody on the phone that is attempting to collect on a debt.

  • Never include your SS number with any letter you send out.

  • If you have to make a settlement payment, do not use a personal check.

  • A letter from a collection attorney – is just a collection agent.

  • You have the right to NOT be called at work

  • Collectors cannot tell ANYBODY about your debt.

Remember – even though this is a bad time for you, the ball is in your court. You have something they want… your money. Think of them as underpaid salesmen. Would you let a salesmen force you to give them your money?

Make them work, play by your rules.
