Credit Card Piggy-backers Just Wont Let Go

Posted on November 1st, 2007 by Marc Chase Posted in Credit Cards | 2 Comments

I wrote a post about piggy backing a few months back. It turns out I was right when I said Fair Isaac would find a way to stop it; and they did. When fair Isaac announced their new scoring model did not factor in authorized users, I assumed that would be the end of the industry. I should have known, while the honest sellers of authorized accounts closed down, a few people are still out there pushing it for hundreds and thousands of dollars like here and here.

They have reasons why they think still a viable tool. For example: it will take a while to implement, loan officers have their own scoring models, it’s only fair Isaac etc etc.

I promise you this…

Transunion is working on it and vantage score has always tried to spot them.

Do not pay for this. If you do, you’re more then likely wasting your money. I’ll admit, it did work, it was a great tool for some people; but it’s over folks.

If you need to work on your credit score by adding new trade lines; do it the right way. Do not pay for this service. It will not work. Instead, take that money and get a secured credit card.

No, it’s not instant gratification. But managing your debt and your credit is a life long project. Start now. Do it right and I promise you’ll be glad you did in a couple short months.

I WAS GOING TO BUY SOME TRADE LINES TO BOOST MY FICO, BUT WHEN THE MORE I THOUGHT ABOUT IT THE MORE I REALIZED THAT I CAN INCREASE MY CREDIT SCORE MYSELF BUY GETTING SECURED CREDIT CARDS, WHICH WILL LEAD TO ME GETTING STORE CREDIT CARDS I KNOW THAT IT ONE OR TWO YEARS I WILL HAVE THE CREDIT SCORE I’M LOOKING FOR. WHY SPEND $1200 OR MORE FOR SOMETHING THAT MIGHT NOT WORK WHEN YOU CAN USE THE SAME AMOUNT FOR A SECURED CREDIT CARD.
