Credit Bureau Dispute Letters
This is the major dispute letter that just about every credit repair company refers to when discussing disputing information in your credit accounts.
While dispute letters are certainly important parts of the credit repair process, they are not the be-all-end-all solution other credit repair companies may have you believe they are. After all, dispute letters are sent to the credit bureaus, not the creditors themselves, and cannot resolve any accounts that are accurate and verified.
If you feel your credit problems may be solvable with a simple credit bureau dispute letter, you don’t need to hire a credit repair company who takes the dispute mill approach to do the work for you – you can write it yourself. Just take a look through your credit report and list any inaccuracies you find in a letter the credit bureaus reporting the accounts, as well as the creditors themselves. By law, they’re required to investigate the accounts and report back to you within 30 days of receiving your disputes. If they can’t verify the information within 30 days, any items disputed must be removed.
While dispute letters work best at handling minor credit concerns, relying on them to improve your credit score won’t get you far. For more realistic and effective ways to clean up your credit, contact a specialist at My Credit Group.
