how to repair a bad credit score

my credit score is very very low--the low 500's. I really want that higher in the future. Being as low as it is and as much debt as I have, what is my best option? Is bankruptcy something I should consider or am I better off having collections. Please help.

    Hi Mama

There isnt a lot of information in your question. How much debt do you have? What type of debt and how old? All I can say at this point is that we see thousands of people in the 500 credit score range that are completely Fixable. See if you can give us a little more detail and we'll give you our best advice. Often times its not as bad as you think.
