Credit Repair Disputes-is there anything more?
Its seems like all im reading about credit repair is diputes, disputes, disputes....is there anything else involved? Is this ocnsidered a legitimate way to solve credit problems or is there a better way? I want to make sure i do it right!
I am pretty sure some of the things on my credit report are not mine. There are two collections that refer to a medical company and one that refers to verizon wireless.
I have not been to a hospital or doctor in years, yet the collections are fairly new. As for the verizon wireless account - I have never, ever had verizon so these I know are wrong. I assume disputing these is the appropriate action.
But there is one collection that is mine. What do I do about that? I don't think just disputing something that is mine and is accurate is the way to go.
Any help would be appreciated.

Credit Disputes
Hello there,
To answer your question, there are other methods aside from the dispute letter that you should be doing instead.
Assuming the medical debt and verizon debt are not yours, you can use a debt validation letter which you will send directly to the collection agency who is collecting on the debts that you are not familiar with.
The debt that you do recognize as yours, you can send a pay for delete letter. Please keep in mind that collection agencies do NOT have to delete the account, but it doesn't not hurt to negotiate the terms when offering to settle an unpaid debt.
Thanks for the question and please let me know if you have any other questions.
