Can I have a debt DELETED after I pay it off?
I hired this Debt Settlement company to settle/pay off all my debts. They have been doing good so far, most of my debt has been reduced by more than half!! So I know Im on the right track, HOWEVER I pulled my credit score yesterday and my score has DROPPED!!!!
I talked to some people and have been reading some forums and I see alot of people saying that "you shouldn't pay off a debt unless the creditor agrees to delete the trade all together". My Debt Settlement company NEVER mentioned this, when i mentioned it to them they told me "creditors are not obligated to delete."
Am i going about this all wrong? Is there some sort of letter or something i should be using to have my creditors delete before I issue a payment to them?
I thought I was helping my credit by paying off my debts, otherwise maybe I should have just kept my money if I was going to end up with bad credit anyways. If anyone has information about a creditor deleting or how to go about getting them to delete, Please Advise!!!
Thanks
