    Pay for Delete

In looking at my credit reports, I see items that I would like to pay off at this point, but that I would also like to have removed if that’s possible so it doesn’t continue to hurt my credit score. A friend suggested I do “pay for delete.”

I’m not sure I completely understand the concept though. I assume if I settle my debt the company then deletes the derogatory account from my reports.

Can someone please explain how pay for delete actually works. And if it’s something that worked for them.
