How will debt settlement help me

How will debt settlement help me when you don't end up paying the full amount. I always questioned debt settlement but now its clear that it does assist you on clearing up your credit depending on whos helping you. With the right resources and experience you could save a lot of money.

Ok here's the thing. Debt settlement itself DOES NOT raise your credit score. What it does do however is keep it from getting a lot worse.

I wrote about this the other day, I'll try and find the link for you. If you have a debt that's in collections, the damage is done to your credit just because it made it to collections.

If you leave it alone, I can almost guarantee you that it will eventually go to a judgment. If you let a collection go to judgment, not only is it likely your checks will get garnished, your credit is going to get a lot worse because now you'll have a collection and a judgment.

Imagine going through the credit repair process and you're starting to see the light. Then all the sudden you're hit with a judgment. You just wasted a bunch of money, time and your credit just got worse.

Obviously each person is unique, most of the time, debt settlement is part of the process.

This is why we keep telling you guys not to fall for these credit repair dispute mills. To properly improve your credit, it takes a well rounded, complete approach. Anything less is usually a waste of time.
