Does paying an old collection account help your score.
I have been slowly paying off my old collection accounts because I would like to get a home loan soon.
After paying several accounts off and waiting 60 days, I have obtained a new credit report with my score, and am very angry that after paying 6 negative accounts off spending a lot of money my fico score has only increase by 6-12 points!!!
I am so frustrated right now and feel like I just wasted my time and money! How can this be? Does paying collection accounts even help your score? Is it going to benefit me at all?
I need some serious and fast help before I waist another 3 months and $1,500.00.
My question is does it help my fico score to pay collection accounts? Are there some accounts that will help and some that wont help? How do I know what accounts will increase my fico by paying and which ones wont.
Am I better off just hiring a company to take care of this for me?
I guess that is a few questions
Thank you for your help in advance
