    Debt Validation didnt quite work

I recently sent a debt validation letter to a credit bureau. I expected to get all this detailed info about my debt if they validated it. But I wasnt able to get:

a copy of the original contract
proof that they are legally able to collect
my payment history and account details

I thought they are supposed to either provide this info or remove the collection. Wht havent they done this and what do I do next?

    How to validate debts

    Hi Kitty,

You never validate a debt with the credit bureau; that's pretty much a standard dispute letter.
You may want to read this article: Debt Validation

Debt validation is something you do with a collection agency. In short when validating a debt with a collector, you are saying "show me proof you have the right to collect this debt, and show me proof that I even owe it"

Here's an explanation of different dispute letters.
