Credit reports aren't bad, but my score just hovers around 625?

Hey all, new to these forums and I'm hoping someone can help me out.

My credit reports aren't horrible. There aren't any charge-offs or collection accounts, but my score doesn't seem to ever change from between 600 and 650. Literally just goes up and down in that range. Shouldn't it get better if I'm paying my bills on time every month? I don't know that credit repair can help since there's really nothing "wrong." But if that's the case, why isn't my score going anywhere?

    Thanks!

    Hi TaylorMade,

I’m going to need a little more information or your situation, but in general there are some questions you can ask yourself. The answers may provide some insight as to why your scores are stagnant.

    • Are your current credit cards maxed out? Lower balances will boost your score.
    • How many cards do you have? It might be too few or too many.
    • Are you making only minimum payments? That makes it look like you’re struggling financially.

If you really want to fix your credit score it’s not always a matter of paying on time every month. While that’s a huge part of your score a lot of other factors are going to play into the overall picture. Your scores aren’t terrible, but it sounds as if, with a few tweaks, you may be able to max it out higher than you have it now.

Definitely write me back, let me know a little more specifically about the cards that you have open now. Or if you want a free consultation where I can go over your credit profile, check out MyCreditGroup.com.
